In addition to representing companies throughout their lifecycle and across their business portfolio, Jason has significant outside and in-house counsel experience representing and advising seed and venture capital investors, private equity investors as well as institutional and strategic investors; having a sophisticated understanding of the often unique, complex and varied needs of such clients and the structuring of their investments.

Jason is respected for and takes pride in his common sense, practical approach to advising his clients; understanding that legal considerations are just a single component of his clients’ broader business goals and objectives.

Prior to joining Baer Crossey McDemus, Jason acted as lead counsel at Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE), a public holding company with ownership interests in more than 25 portfolio businesses at varying lifecycle stages and across of a variety of industries (including Adtech, Fintech, Healthcare and other technology focused industries). While at Safeguard Jason lead and managed the company’s initial and follow-on investments as well as its partner company exits, acting as both a legal and business/strategic advisor. In addition, in his role at Safeguard, Jason assisted in managing Safeguard’s general corporate and public company needs; regularly acted as advisor and outside counsel to its partner companies and was routinely involved in advising on and participating in the execution of many of Safeguard’s strategic business initiatives. Prior to Safeguard, Jason was a senior associate at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, out of its Philadelphia office, where his practice focused principally on representing emerging businesses and other high-growth private and public companies encompassing all aspects of their business. In addition, Jason’s practice at Morgan Lewis included the representation of venture capital, private equity and other strategic investors.
