Denisse García is an Associate in the Technology and Data Privacy practice group at Baer Crossey McDemus, where she advises clients on technology acquisition and licensing, privacy, copyright, and trademark matters. Denisse obtained her Juris Doctor from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where she graduated with Honors in the Intellectual Property Law Concentration and received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Student at graduation. While at Drexel, she was a member of Drexel Law Review, President of the Latin American Law Students’ Association, and a scholar at the Microsoft/Hispanic National Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Institute. Her work has been published in the Joint Patent Practice’s Annual Seminar Coursebook and the Drexel Law Review. Denisse is also a licensed attorney in her home country of Uruguay. She is a native Spanish speaker and enjoys learning other languages, such as French, Italian and Portuguese.
Prior to joining Baer Crossey McDemus, Denisse worked as a contract attorney in Uruguay, where she provided offshore legal support for the procurement department of PwC US. In that capacity, she gained extensive contract drafting and negotiating experience, particularly relating to software and technology contracts. She completed Drexel’s required practical training in the Intellectual Property Group of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, and in the first year of law school was chosen by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) to participate in its annual Diversity Corporate Summer Internship Program, which she completed in the legal department of SAP America. She is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania, and has volunteered with Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Philadelphia VIP.
